PMI-Sponsored Lecture

PMI sponsored a lecture (Global Cancer Perspective - An overview) which was delivered by Professor Karol Sikora during the International Molecular and Cellular Biology of Cancer Course (MCBC) at the University of Birmingham. This was the first lecture on the course. 

Professor Sikora addressed the different challenges currently facing the 'developed' and 'developing' nations in combating the increasing number of patients with cancer and forecast that the total number of patients with cancer in the next decade will have increased significantly. 

The lecture also addressed the impact of the costs of new tests and targeted therapies.

MCBC, a five day course, held between 20th and the 24th of February 2006, was attended by clinicians and scientists from across the globe.
