SIFE Birmingham raises awareness amongst the youth
During the first half of this year, the SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) Birmingham team was actively involved in raising awareness amongst the youth of the issues related to prostate cancer. They also organized social events to raise funds for the PMI charity.
At a recent meeting between members of the SIFE Birmingham team and the PMI board of Trustees, Ms Suraaya Ladak presented a cheque to PMI for the funds raised by the team.
In his testimonial and endorsement of SIFE Birmingham’s involvement with the PMI charity, Paul Abel, Trustee of PMI, said “We are very impressed with the enthusiasm and the entrepreneurial skills of the SIFE Birmingham Team”
The SIFE Birmingham team was awarded a “Spirit of SIFE” award at this year’s National championships held in London on 27th April 2006.
About SIFE: SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) is a not-for-profit university student organization which is active in 1,800 universities in 46 countries. The students, guided by university and business advisers, set themselves up in teams to develop projects which create economic opportunity for others. Collaborations are formed between students, businesses and the surrounding community. Each year, students present their projects at national competitions, in front of a panel of judges who are from prestigious backgrounds, which are held in every SIFE country.
