Maurice Laniado

(Director and Trustee of PMI)

Maurice Laniado is one of the founder members of PMI. His interest and motivation stem from awareness of the large incidence of prostate diseases; a close friend of his died of prostate cancer, several others are sufferers, statistical information gained from his eldest son a consultant urologist, and personal experience with hyperplasia.

Maurice feels that well directed, sustained research into the various causes of prostate diseases, in particular prostate cancer, is the key to reducing the suffering of so many men and the serious consequences these diseases have on their families.

Maurice started his career in import and export and subsequently in 1964 was one of the innovators of the Business Centre industry in the UK. Now semi-retired, he brings to PMI a wealth of business experience and sound advice. His other interests are: his family, d.i.y., sailing and voluntary work.
