Sir Patrick (knighted 1985) was Judge of the High Court, Queen’s Bench Division from1985 to 2002 and Senior Trial Judge for England and Wales from 2000 to 2002.

During a distinguished career spanning five decades (called to Bar in 1953), Sir Patrick has presided and served in various capacities in the legal profession and judiciary. He is the author of numerous articles in legal and technological journals. He retired from public office in October 2002.

As a prostate cancer sufferer himself, Sir Patrick knows only too well the extent of the need to raise the level of awareness for this disease which does not receive the publicity and attention it deserves, often leading to a delayed diagnosis and treatment.

Sir Patrick’s interests are gardening, industrial archaeology and cricket.
