Paul Downey

Paul Downey graduated in Mathematics from Cambridge University in 1981. He subsequently joined the actuarial profession, becoming a qualified Actuary in 1986. He was the Appointed Actuary of National Mutual Life Assurance Society (a UK mutual insurer) from 1989 up to its demutualisation and the transfer of its business to GE Pensions Limited in 2002. He took on a similar role with GE Pensions Limited up to its sale to Swiss Re in 2006. He then had a number of actuarial positions within the Swiss Re group. He is currently the With-Profits Actuary at Liverpool Victoria Friendly Society.
